This Pro PM version of the classic Crown Roughing Gouge features an overall length of 18-1/2 inches with a comfortable 12-1/2 inch stained black ash handle, providing excellent grip and control. Crafted in England, the tool is made from advanced Powder Metal (PM) steel, which is compressed and sintered to create a cutting edge that lasts four to five times longer than conventional High Speed Steel (HSS) tools. With a hardness rating between 66° and 68° Rockwell, this gouge superior wear resistance, excellent grindability, toughness, and retains its cutting edge for longer periods.
